Houston International Boat Show, Houston, Texas

Well it’s boat show time again and the FishNet Daily News will be at most of them. Kicking off the season in Texas is always the “Big Daddy” of Texas the Houston International Boat Show. Now, we have been to lots of boat shows and we have to admit that there is quite a bit of “ If you seen one , then you seen them all”. However, for us we always get to see people we know such as Bobby Byrd with Tops and Towers and Pat and Patricia and the girls with The Texas Lady Anglers, and Lee Gresham that reps for Shallow Sport Boats. We really enjoy the old friends and making new friends such as Capt. Mark Salazar with Tides and Tails Guide Service out of the Galveston Bay Complex. We look forward to receiving some fishing reports and articles from Capt. Mark.

I like seeing the old and the restored and seeing this old sailing vessel was quite a treat for me.
Here was a new item that we had never seen before. It was called the Flatstalker and looking at the video, it seemed to be very stable. It only weighs about 50 lbs., can be carried in a pick-up, on top of a car, or in a boat for really shallow access to redfish.

You can either stand or sit when you paddle or when you are fishing.

Here we have the

As always there were plenty of vendors for the ladies to enjoy while the guys were looking and shooting the bull and telling “fish stories”.

Great Boat Show!

Something for
Everybody.

We were happy to be introduced to Capt. Troy Fountain by Patricia Drake form the Texas Lady Anglers. Capt. Fountain owns the Chandeleur Charters out of Biloxi Mississippi and we are happy to see and hear that the fishing industry is still alive over in that area. We wish them the best and they certainly have our prayers that their economy recovers completely and quickly.

Well, as I said before I really like the old ones. In the lobby of the convention center was a rare collection of Chris Craft woodies. I couldn’t resist taking their pictures and admiring the workmanship of the original builders and the handy work of the men that restored them.

We had a good time and this was like the icing on the cake….until next year… May God Bless You and Keep You Safe.
