Texas Fly Tyers By: Andy Hickman The FishNet Daily News made it over to the Texas Fly Tyers convention in Houston back in February but we have been so busy with two very big projects, we simply haven’t had the time to get this story together until just now. This was a show well worth making and the quality of craftsmen and women that were there was very impressive. Some of the flies that were displayed were not for fishing but were real works of art to be collected. Tyers of reputation included Ken Bohanan, Kyle Hand, Chuck Scates, Thomas Stevenson, John Carpenter and his daughter Shelby, John Jackman, Lefty Ray, Bill Trussell and Judy Lehmberg just to mention a few.

Some examples of handy work from the craftsmen at this show
Here are more fly Tyers that were present at the Houston show. We know we didn’t get to cover everyone and we wish to apologize for that. We did enjoy the show and look forward to the next one. The skill of these people is simply amazing and to see the young people that are involved in this craft is very refreshing. We look forward to seeing this group again next year.
