Ken Bohannon
Fly Fishing / Fly Tying
The
FishNet Daily News welcomes Ken Bohannon as a contributing author and
expert fly fisherman and instructor for both fly tying and fly casting.
Ken was born in Phoenix Arizona and began fishing when he was about four
years old. He began fly fishing at the age of twelve and has been an
avid fisherman and conservationist ever since.
Ken has fly fished the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Europe, Hawaiian
islands chain, Fiji, Fanning, and Christmas Islands of the Pacific for
Blue Marlin and other saltwater species. He has also fished the US
Virgin Islands, Bahamas, and Caribbean islands of Mexico. He is a life
member of Trout Unlimited, Federation of Flyfishers, United Flytiers,
North American Fishing Club, and the Saltwater Flyrodders of America.
Ken is currently a manager of the Flyfishing Bug and Flyfishers for
Christ on the MSN network and belongs to several chapters in the Dallas
area including the Dallas Flyfishers, Red River Flycasters, and the
Pineywoods Flycasters.Ken enjoys teaching at flyfishing shows as a
flytying and flycasting instructor. He is involved with conservation and
environmental projects around the US for trout and Salmon as well as
saltwater species off the coast of California and Florida. Other hobbies
include Mountain climbing, biking, backpacking and photography. Rod
making and tying custom flies for friends and clients.
