This is Dan Peavy from Hooked on Panama Lodge ( AKA Aqua Adventures Panama ). Got a report here from the last week plus some pics and info from the last month.

First off, fishing has been good. Had the whole fleet out this week with 2 groups. One was from Kevin Gehm with Trek Safaris and the other was from Fred Stephens with Adventure Sport Fishing. All the guys had a great time.

The Dorado bite was so good, that everyone was getting a little tired of catching them. The Sail Fish have started showing in great numbers, but with the full moon this week, they were not
aggressively feeding. By day 4 when the moon cycle was more in our favor, my boat, the Miss Baru got 10 shots at sails on the last day. Every boat had at least one shot at a Marlin. Several
Roosters were caught and released. Two new lodge records were set with a 62lb. Cubera Snapper and a 48lb. Dorado. The floaters were holding a hoard of Triple Tails ( probably the best eating fish in the sea ) and a mixed bag of everything else. The big Yellow Fin Tunas that were showing up at this time last year have yet to rear their heads, but the huge bait schools that they feed on have, so we expect them to be here any day.

Over the last month, we have had one group after another and it has been more of the same. Fishing has been good. We hosted a Father Son fishing tournament for the local Young Presidents Association and the event was a rousing success. Another record was set for the Lodge that weekend with a 700lb. Black Marlin winning the event. Didn't have a scale big enough for it, but the measurements told the tale.  Now, before anyone gives me grief about the photo of the Marlin on the deck, she came up tail wrapped and couldn't be revived. We are firm believers in catch and release, sometimes shit happens.

Sorry to all out there who enjoy reading these reports for it taking me so long to put it together. We have been really busy here and I finally got a moment to sit down, sort through my photos and write this. I will post more pics as I get them from our guest. Got a ton coming by e-mail soon.

Anyway, the fishing has been great, the meals were excellent, the drinks were cold, the pool refreshing and to top it off, the weather has been absolutely beautiful. Hope to see you down here with us for a fishing trip of a lifetime.
